About us
The West Jefferson Elementary Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is comprised of parents, staff, and community members who are committed to reaching out to all students and parents to improve our children's future. We welcome you to participate in our meetings whether you are a member or not. You are invited to join the PTA anytime during the school year.
Major Activities of the WJE PTA for the 2010-11 School Year:
Provide an enriching environment for our children's education:
- Reflections Art Program
- Science fair
- PEAKs Programs
- PAWS Publishing Center
Support the well being of our children:
- Movie Nights
- Holiday Elf Shoppe
- Fifth Grade Continuation
Enhance communication among the West Jeff community:
- Bobcat Newsletter
- School directory
- Website
Build our community interactions while raising funds to support activities and the school:
- Gold C Coupon Book Sales
- e-book Coupon Book Sales
- Passive Fundraising including: Box Tops, Cambell’s Labels, escrips, Target Creditcards, and Printer Cartridge & Cell Phone Recycling
- Personal and Business Donations
Our Goals include:
- Student Enrichment
- Document Cameras for every classroom
- Multimedia
- Teacher Support
The WJE PTA has a minimum of three regular business meetings each year:
- Meetings are scheduled for the 1st Thursday of each month immediately following the CDM Meeting which starts at 4:00pm
Remember: When you get involved in PTA, the child who benefits the most is your own. You also are taking a major step toward improving your child’s school, your community, and your state and national education and health policies
